A French engineer, Mr. Georges Gauthier, by equipping motor vehicles with a special suspension, managed to make them jump over obstacles without any more damage to the driver than to the vehicle!
In these photographs, we see the vehicle taking off like an airplane at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour. After traveling up an embankment 1 meter high and at a 45° angle, the car rises to about 1.5 meters and lands 5 or 6 meters further away, with the rear wheels reaching almost the same height as the front ones. |
