L'Écho de Paris - May 31, 1925

Against Communist PropagandaLÉcho de Paris 1925 05 31 against Moscow propaganda
An Agreement Between the Great Powers?

(From our special correspondent) London, May 30. London has been informed that the governments of Western Europe and the United States are considering joint defense measures against the subversive communist propaganda directed from Moscow by Kamenef, Zinovish, and Stalin. The fight against the communist movement has reportedly been the subject of an exchange of views between Great Britain, France, Italy, and the United States. The German government has also made it known that it is in complete agreement with the general policy to be pursued against communism.

As for Great Britain, the recent and energetic declarations of the Home Secretary, Sir Frederick Joynson Hicks, have not been forgotten: "No Russian propagandist and no foreign communist will be allowed to continue his propaganda here."

On Monday, the congress of maritime cooperatives opens; On this occasion, two communist leaders were allowed to enter this country; they are members of the Russian Cooperative Union Centrosoius. They are Messrs. Gavrilov and Gourevitch.

The Glasgow Conference also opens today. It is known that the British government has banned foreigners from participating. This conference opened before 200 delegates. A message was read from the communists of Bulgaria, who protested against Friedmann's execution.
