THE GUADET PRIZELÉclaireur du dimanche 1925 06 14 Miss Jeanne Fratacci was awarded the Guadet Prize

Our young and charming fellow citizen, Miss Jeanne Fratacci, daughter of the eminent architect so well known in our city, has just achieved resounding success by completing her studies at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Along with the title of Government-certified architect, she was awarded the Guadet Prize, the highest award given to the best diploma project presented during the year. This flattering distinction, which is the first time a woman has received it, crowns the numerous medals obtained during her studies. A former student of our Lycée, Miss Fratacci first encountered the challenging and wonderful profession of the arts at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Nice; but her heritage and vocation led her toward architecture. Trained by her father, she went to Paris where she took the place of her brother, whose name is engraved on the monument erected to the students of the École des Beaux-Arts who died on the Field of Honor. She became a student of Master Tournaire, a member of the Institute, chief architect of the city of Paris and of civil buildings, himself a native of Nice, who transferred to the girl the affection he felt for her father, his former classmate in Rome; under his guidance, the young artist's talent blossomed, culminating in a remarkable success that brought honor to both master and student.
