The Embarrassed Driver

As was previously announced, the Funi is also opening its competition today. We are also providing the necessary explanations. It goes without saying that the reader who finds the shortest route while respecting the two additional clauses will be the winner.

If the correct solution is found by more than one participant, the winners, for the awarding of the main prize, will be decided by a jury composed of the prize donors. In this selection, the following will be taken into account: 1. the date of arrival of the answer;
2. the presentation of said answer, over which the competitors have full discretion.

Answers received before Thursday, August 17th will be considered invalid.
The competition deadline is September 30th.
A single reader may not send us multiple solutions. The first one received is the only valid one.
We are at your disposal, by letter only, to enlighten competitors on any point. These letters will only be answered through the newspaper.

The route taken by the driver must be traced either in ink or in pencil. No distinction will be made between these two methods.
Changes of direction may only be made at right angles, clearly indicated by the diagram below.

This oh-so-fanciful map of Belleville has been given to a driver. He must visit each of the merchants listed on it. He may indeed be embarrassed, because in the midst of these maze of streets, he must strictly observe the following three rules:
1. He cannot reverse;
2. He must return once to his starting point;
3. Complete these two rounds by the shortest route.

Friend reader, help him!

THE "FUNI" COMPETITION PRIZES
Due to the July 14th holiday, we have not yet been able to finalize the prizes offered for the competition.
In addition to those detailed in a previous issue (No. 117), we should mention three prizes offered by Mr. Queuille, 70 rue des Rigoles, and ten prizes offered by Mr. Bothy, director of Imprimerie Jolibois.
