DRIVING LICENSE EXAMINATORS IN CHARENTE COMPLAINTS
Saint-Gervais (Charente), March 27. - Student drivers and their master mechanics are bitterly complaining about the overly strict way in which driving license exams are organized in the region. Recently, in La Péruse, an examiner, whose job as a lime and cement merchant and insurance agent seemed unlikely to qualify him for such a position, failed several candidates in quick succession by asking them the following question: "You are on a national road; another car, at an intersection, is coming off a main road. What are you doing?" The candidates replied: "According to the Highway Code, I have the right of way; therefore, I'll pass... That's wrong!" replied the examiner... Yet...
