THE YOUNGEST MAYOR IN FRANCE
Mr. Edouard Bourlez, the youngest mayor in France, was born in Pouilly (Somme), a small town in the Péronne district. He was elected municipal councilor in Péronne on January 18, 1925, and then mayor on February 8.
Mr. Bourlez was born on January 17, 1900. A farmer, he devoted all his efforts to the revival of his country, which had been destroyed during the war. A committed sportsman, he played soccer and track and field for the Union Sportive de Ham.
