Professor Trevor Kincaid of the University of Washington reports that snowworms have been discovered in the Cascade Mountains and on Alaskan glaciers.The snowworm, or iceworm, is not pink as is commonly believed, but rather a brownish hue. Its pigments develop a heat that allows it to pierce the ice like a red-hot iron rod. It is about an inch long and feeds on whatever it finds in the ice.
