OUR CANNED TOMATOES

The manufacturers of canned tomatoes from Provence are raising the banner of revolt! What happened? Here it is:
This year the harvest of love apples was exceptionally abundant and the canning factories worked hard. However, the fall in the Italian exchange rate has caused quite legitimate hopes to collapse; it has favored the entry of a large part of the coulis from the peninsula and our Provençal manufacturers find themselves handicapped.
Faced with the seriousness of the situation, the Chamber of Commerce of Marseille has protested to the minister partly responsible for this crisis, since he, in order to reduce the cost of living, removed on September 21, by decree, the increase coefficient of the import duty relating to canned tomatoes of Italian origin. In the meantime, the Piedmontese coulis is proudly basking in all the windows, to the detriment of our good canned products from Provence which are nevertheless worth it.
