We published yesterday the report of the communication made before the Academy of Inscriptions and Belles-Lettres by Miss Marthe Oulié, archaeologist, who, in the company of Miss H. de Saussure, carried out excavations in Crete. These two young girls rediscovered the ancient Mallia, capital of eastern Crete, created around 2100 BCE and destroyed in 1700 or 1900 BCE.
Here: 1. Miss Marthe Oulié; 2. Miss Oulié (on the right) and Miss de Saussure in a building site where a vase has just been discovered, which can be seen in the foreground; 3. a view of the excavations carried out in the Cretan city of Mallia; 4. the room of an open dwelling (in the foreground, the threshold).
