Dear Director,

Applauding with both hands the campaign that you are leading in your newspaper in favor of the cleanliness of the city, I would like to point out this fact to you:
The drainage company that pompously calls itself the "Sanitation Company" is really taking it a bit easy.

Its equipment being completely inadequate for the work that it must provide, the company finds itself overwhelmed and has, by the admission of its director, more than two hundred requests to satisfy.

The cesspits do not have a pressure gauge; we realize that they are full when they start to overflow; so we rush to the "Vidanges" to ask that the pit be emptied and... we are left to wait four or five weeks.

It is not very pleasant and even less hygienic.
