IN CAIRO EGYPT STILL CLAIMS THE SUDAN Complete independence of Egypt and the Sudan," was Zaghloul's formula. CAIRO, October 21. Zaghloul Pasha arrived at 2.30 a.m. and was warmly cheered by the crowd. Speaking in Alexandria, Zaghloul Pasha said, among other things, that the official Foreign Office documents had omitted to mention that he had asked Mr. Mac Donald that the position of the High Commissioner in Egypt should be assimilated to that of any other foreign minister. Referring to the London negotiations, the Egyptian Prime Minister said that he had lost nothing by conversing with the British authorities, since he had confronted them with the rights of Egypt, and he added that the unjustified refusal to recognize them had convinced the Egyptian people that they could count only on themselves and that they must henceforth redouble their efforts to to have them consecrated by remaining grouped under the banner "Complete Independence of Egypt and the Sudan". Zaghloul Pasha, concluding amidst cheers, adds that the Egyptians will never admit the separation of the two countries and that they will fight to the death as long as there remains a single foreign soldier on Egyptian soil.
