Puligny-Montrachet in Côte-d'Or

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET
(Côte-d'Or)

The Syndicate of winegrowers of Puligny-Montrachet, which has 150 members, sends us the report of the deliberation that it took unanimously.

Considering the campaign currently being conducted by certain groups on the subject of the designations of origin of the next harvest; noting that wines have always been sold under the name white wine and red wine and that according to the terms of the law: "Any product harvested on the territory of a commune has the right to bear the name of this commune", which constitutes local, loyal and constant customs.

Consequently, requests: That the pure and simple application of the law of May 6, 1919 be maintained, and decides that all harvest declarations be made uniformly in this sense:
Puligny-Montrachet, great white or red wine (for classified pinots) Puligny-Montrachet, fine white or red wine (for unclassified pinots). 189 Puligny-Montrachet white, Puligny-Montrachet red for wines made from grafted French grape varieties).
