SHE BETRAYED HER HUSBAND
THE TELEPHONE BETRAYED HER
-
BUDAPEST. October 3. The distraction of a young lady from the telephone of Pudapest, has just had tragic consequences. Mr. Stephen Kosytka, high official of the city, having requested a communication, his telephone was connected to a line already busy and chance would have it that he overheard a conversation that his wife was exchanging with Lieutenant-Colonel Ligmend Valerian, one of the most eminent officers of the Hungarian cavalry. Mr. Kosytka thus discovered the guilty relations that his wife maintained with the officer, in the company of whom she was preparing to flee the following night.
Half an hour later, the colonel fell, in the middle of the street, under the bullets of Mr. Kosytka, who was lying in wait for him as he passed.
His rival killed, Mr. Kosytka gave himself up prisoner.
