FOR DRIVERS

The Ministry of Public Works is asking that in the future, in the event of a fine issued to cars by the police, the latter be entitled to the 1 fr. 25 gratuity that is granted to them for all other fines. For cars, they received nothing. We are no doubt hoping to encourage them to issue more fines. This measure should have as a corollary the absolute elimination of the theft fine. The police generally go in pairs. They should go 100 meters from each other. If the first does not get the vehicle to stop, let him whistle, the second will do what is necessary (by hurrying, because 100 an hour...). It should also lead to the elimination of speed limits that are absolutely fanciful and impossible to control by determining the right to stop. It is not because a car is going fast that it is dangerous, it is because it cannot stop in time.

AGAINST RAIN. Rub the ice with a piece of dry Marseille soap; then wipe, leaving a light layer of soap. The rain will spread out in a uniform layer and will no longer obstruct vision.
Against fog itself, cut a potato in half and rub the ice with the slice.

The Highway Code had granted motorists a period, expiring on June 1, 1924, to comply with the decree setting the conditions imposed on the lighting of motor vehicles.
The Ministry of Public Works reminds those concerned of the provisions of this decree which entail in particular the following obligations:
All motor vehicles, except motorcycles, must be equipped, at the front, with two white light lanterns and, at the rear, with a red light lantern placed on the left.
For motorcycles, lighting may be reduced either to a light visible from the front and rear, or, when a device with a red reflecting surface is installed at the rear, to a light visible from the front only.
The headlight(s) used must have sufficient power to illuminate the road at 100 metres and not project their light beam more than 1 m 40 from the ground.
Lighting devices, whether flame or electric, must have a device for instantly reducing the lighting.
Any vehicle whose equipment does not meet these requirements must not exceed twenty kilometres per hour at night.
