The campaign undertaken by the clergy against dresses that are too low-cut continues with more rigor than ever.
Every day the Swiss who watches over the barriers of the Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre, properly throws out of the basilica young girls guilty of wearing a slightly low-cut bodice or sleeves that only cover the upper arm.
This does not go without protest, but the defender of outraged morality always has strength.
And this to the great satisfaction of the clients of the Cook Agency who, in their high, puritanical dresses and in their ample greenish or goose-pea coats, circulate with impunity in groups in the church and make the vaults vibrate with their guttural calls.
Will our prudish priests go so far as to follow the example of one of their Belgian colleagues from Hainaut, who refused entry to his church to ladies invited to a wedding because they were improperly dressed.

Only the bride and groom and the men of the procession were allowed to enter the house of the Lord to attend the nuptial blessing.

The story does not say whether their spouses waited for them at the local bistro.
