The Mosul Question

THE MOSUL QUESTION

Active Preparations are being made in Great Britain

London, October 11. The Daily Express understands that, despite all official denials, it is perfectly true that active preparations are being made at all military depots in Great Britain for the sending of reinforcements across the Suez Canal.

The Daily Express states that this activity is prompted by the seriousness of the present situation in the vilayet of Mosul.

On the other hand, the diplomatic correspondent of the Westminster Gazette announces that the British Government has just addressed a third note to the Government of Ankara, concerning the presence of regular Turkish troops on the frontier of Iraq.
It is permissible to suppose, adds the Westminster Gazette, that, in the event of the Turkish government failing to heed the warnings of the English government, the latter would find itself obliged to examine immediately all the possible consequences of such a situation.
