THE PICKERS WHO OPERATE IN CARS

Every year, when autumn returns, the pickers resume their exploits; but this year, they seem to want to operate with more method: they join forces and travel by car!

This is how a seamstress, Miss Madeleine Corneur, twenty-two years old, living on rue Caulaincourt, fell victim to these incomprehensible maniacs.

This young woman was in a café on rue Pigalle, where she was drinking, when, suddenly, she felt two violent stings: one on the thigh, the other on the calf. She got up immediately, but, at the same time, she was stung a third time. She then wanted to flee this establishment, but she did not have time to reach the sidewalk, where she collapsed, seized by a general numbness.

Or. while passers-by rushed to pick her up, Miss Corneur saw four individuals running out of the café. They rushed towards a car parked a few metres from the establishment and fled.

She was taken to Lariboisière hospital, where it was found that the young woman did indeed bear the marks of three recent injections. The judicial police are investigating; thanks to Miss Corneur who was able to note the car's number in time, they have already found the driver who was transporting these audacious monomaniacs.
