SHORT STORIES FROM A WIDE WORLD Mr. Mussolini wants to have the tallest skyscraper in the world. There is talk of building a skyscraper in Rome that will be the tallest in the world; the project, which is the work of the Italian-Argentine architect Palanti, provides for an eighty-story building, 333 meters high, 305 meters wide. It will include 4,500 rooms, 100 large halls, a large concert hall, a theater and an Olympic gymnasium. The architect is affiliated with the Fascist party, and the building will be built by the government of Mr. Mussolini. There remains, it seems, only one difficulty. The necessary funds have not yet been found, nor the land. |
