The Z-R 3 has arrived in America

CROSSING THE ATLANTIC
The Z.-R. 3 has arrived in America

The greatest precautions are taken at Lake Hurst in preparation for landing
The Z-R 3 has arrived in America.

At 5:25 a.m. (French time), it flew over the southern tip of Nova Scotia, passing over Cape Sable and continuing its route towards the South-West to fly successively over Boston, which it reached at 9:20 a.m., and New York, before landing at Lake Hurst where the hangar that will receive it is installed.
Thus ends this raid which will count in the splendor of air navigation, having no comparable precedent except the raid accomplished in 1919 by an English airship, the R 34, which made the double journey, round trip, from England to America.
The course followed by the Z-R 3 will doubtless be astonished. We said yesterday that it had to deviate from the straight line to avoid a storm reported on the Gulf of Mexico.
That is why it headed for Sable Island, which it flew over last night, at about seven o'clock in the evening. It then turned sharply to the west, heading for the Canadian coast.

In New York
New York, October 16. - The ZR 3 flew over Providence at 4:48. It exchanged signals with the naval arsenal. When the roar of the engines was heard, thousands of people rushed into the streets and onto the roofs to watch the zeppelin flying at low altitude.

The landing
The greatest precautions were taken at Lake Hurst to avoid any accident which could cause the explosion of this enormous mass of 70,000 tons of hydrogen. It is even forbidden to walk the streets with studded shoes that could cause a spark.
The telephone and the transport of electric power are interrupted until American engineers have replaced hydrogen with helium, a lighter, incombustible gas, but as expensive as it is rare.
