London Pact Signed Yesterday LONDON, August 30. The London Agreement was signed today at 1 p.m. at the Foreign Office. The Ambassadors and Ministers of the Powers concerned were received by Sir Eyre Crewe, Permanent Secretary at the Foreign Office, who, in the absence of Mr. MacDonald, signed on behalf of the British Government. For Great Britain: Sir Eyre Crewe; for the British Dominions, the High Commissioners in London; for France, the Count of Saint-Aulaire; for Belgium, Baron Moncheur; for Greece, M. Caclamaños; for Italy, the Marquis Della Torretta; for Japan, Baron Hayashi; for Portugal, General Norton de Matos; for Romania, Mr. Djuvera, First Secretary of the Legation; for the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, Mr. Gavrilovitch; for Germany, Mr. Sthamer. The protocol and annexes 2 and 3 have been signed by all the countries concerned, but Germany has not affixed its signature to annex No. 4. The last document, signed by the governments represented at the C. D. R., consecrates the agreement reached between these governments during the London Conference. The military evacuation PARIS, August 30... In accordance with the commitment made by MM. Herriot and Theunis, in their letter to Chancellor Marx, dated July 16, 1924, the order to proceed with the military evacuation of the Dortmund-Horde zone, as well as the territories located outside that of the Ruhr, occupied since January 11, 1923, will be given immediately. Instructions have been sent to this effect to General Degoutte. In accordance with the same commitment, this military evacuation will take place at the same time as the economic evacuation of the zone. |
