THE DAUDET-TERY TRIALS AND “ACTION FRANÇAISE” AGAINST THE “ACTION FRANÇAISE”

The 12th correctional chamber was, yesterday, seized of a series of trials of Mr. Léon Daudet against Mr. Gustave Téry and Mr. Pautignat, manager of "l'Oeuvre"; of Mr. Gustave Téry against MM. Léon Daudet, Charles Maurras and Abel Manouvrier; of M, Gustave Téry against MM, Maurice Pujo and Deleste, manager of the; “Action Française”; of Madame Bernain de Ravisi against Mr. Deleste; of Mrs. Bernain de Ravisi against MM. Abel Manouvrier and Deleste.

In the first of these trials, Mr. Gustave Téry was, for defamation, sentenced to a thousand francs fine and Mr. Pautignat to five hundred francs, and both jointly and severally to ten thousand francs in damages.

In the second, Mr. Léon Daudet was fined two thousand francs; Mr. Charles Maurras, exonerated for certain articles, was, for others, sentenced to two. a thousand francs fine also, and Mr. Abel Manouvrier five hundred francs. All three were, in addition, jointly ordered to pay twenty thousand francs in damages.

In the third, MM, Maurice Pujo and Deleste, acquitted of insults and threats, were, for defamation, sentenced to a hundred francs fine and five hundred francs in damages.

In the fourth, Mr. Deleste and the company "Action Française" were, by default, after they had declined the jurisdiction of the court, sentenced to a fine of two thousand francs and five thousand francs in damages. , and upon insertion of the judgment, under a penalty of five hundred francs bar Day of delay,
