P.T.T. employees protest against high cost of living — At the end of a meeting held Sunday at 3 p.m., rue de Tournai, the Trade Union Federation of P.T.T. employees issued an agenda in which it is said: “Considering: that the cost of living continues its upward march and currently reaches the coefficient 4.10 compared to 1914, " That the increase in salaries is far from having reached this same coefficient, "That, under these conditions, life has become impossible for the majority of minor civil servants who have starvation wages, " Request that the cost of living allowance be increased from 720 to 1,800 fr. until the salaries can be brought into line with the current cost of living. " |
