The maggot trust The formidable question of astibloches is posed before public opinion: we no longer find astibloches: they are trusted! So here are the anglers in trouble. It seems that a daring firm is now monopolizing all the maggots born in the rendering plants in the suburbs and driving up the price of a liter of sawdust and astibloches to dealers up to three francs. Now, as the latter have not been able to form a union to defend their interests against the “wholesalers”, they are indeed obliged to sell the maggots to the “coarse fishermen” at least five francs a litre. It is the newspaper which has "the largest circulation in the world" which affirms it. "Who, then," he concludes, "said that angling was an economic pleasure?"
