A Knight of the “Invisible Empire” has landed in France

The Ku-Klux-Klan, the famous American sect whose mysterious exploits have hit the headlines on various occasions, would he try to found a subsidiary in France? This is the rumor that has been circulating since the discovery, these days, on board the liner "Spain", arrived in Saint-Nazaire, of documents relating to the activity of this terrorist organization.

These documents were found in a traveler's trunk by the special commissioner who was checking the luggage. The passenger suspecting what would happen following these investigations, had fled and it was not possible to apprehend him, despite all the searches undertaken immediately.

General Security, made aware of the incident, is continuing the investigation.

Their goal, in a word, is to passionately "Americanize" the United States and to rid it of foreign elements: Negroes, Jews, Communists, etc. They are violently anti-Jewish, because the continued and increased immigration of Israelites worries them: they are anti-Catholic, because the head of the Church lives abroad; they are against the Negro race, against the yellow race, against Bolshevism.

The Ku-Klux-Klan has a uniform: a white balaclava and a large coat of the same color. Its sections are numerous. The new vindicators roam the cities and the countryside, judging and executing. One of their "punishments", beating tarring-feathering, consists of stripping the victim of all clothing, smearing his body with tar and covering him with feathers.

The Ku-Klux-Klan receives female memberships. The most formidable sections are: The Knights of Pythias, The Sons and Daughters of Washington, The Guardians of Liberty, and especially the T. A. or True Americamon. The latter subject their victims to the question with the help of specially constructed scientific instruments. We discovered horribly mutilated corpses after the passage of these terrible visionaries, the legs and arms of the victims had been torn off while they were still alive.

We understand the turmoil of the French authorities on learning of the landing on our soil of one of the members of the Invisible Empire, carrying instructions on which the police today refuse to provide information.
