The exhibition of the costume of our old provinces, organized by the P. T. T. of France, for the benefit of their orphanage, will take place next June at the Trocadéro and brings together nearly 10,000 dolls Without a doubt, one of the most notable collections will be that presented by the staff of the P. T. T. du Finistère, exhibited since yesterday in a gallery on the ground floor of the museum. You have to walk slowly past these pretty dolls, to remember the most beautiful things. Here, in her magnificent finery, “Corentine”, the queen of Cornouaille queens, offered by the telephone operators of Quimper; “Youenik”, from Pont-l’Abbé, whose costume is the work of an old local embroiderer, homage to the P. T. T. of Pont-l’Abbé and Guilvinec; “Hélène”, from Concarneau, the queen of the Filets bleus, toilet recreated by the queen herself and offered by the Concarneau staff; children from Plougastel; a woman from the island of Sein, all in black; a very natural Ouessantine, gift from Miss Gourvennec, from Brest. A great farandole brings together the prettiest costumes from Finistère, in the brilliance of gold, purple, amethyst and emerald embroidery. The Quimper bride and groom “Corentin and Mariannik”, followed by their long procession which is all of Brittany, a country of color and light, are the very beautiful send-off of the P. T. T. of Quimper. Then, in the frame of small Breton furniture, kindly offered by the Fonferrier house, is a long gallery of ancient costumes, with old and authentic fabrics and silks, highlighted by brocade braids, sumptuous velvets, arabesques and sequins. sparkling. Today is the second and last day of the exhibition. There were many visitors yesterday, and there will be crowds today, because the delicious Breton dolls presented by the P. T. T. of Finistère, for the benefit of their national orphanage, cannot fail to interest and charm the young and old alike |
