AN INCIDENT BETWEEN THE SOVIETS AND CHINA

Beijing, March 20. The Chinese government invited Mr. Karakhan, a Soviet resident in Beijing, to leave China.

It appears that Mr. Karakhan insulted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his notes and the last of these, amounting to an ultimatum, ordered China to have to officially recognize the Soviet government within three weeks.

The situation is tense between the governments of Beijing and Moscow.
