This garment, very practical, light and warm, protects the child without weighing it down with unnecessary thickness.
It forms a vest in the front, and a plastron in the back, and fastens on the sides with two buttons. Its fabric is made up of wool barrettes, interspersed with rows of pearl cotton, for the prettiest effect.

Execution.
You need 70 grams of 6-ply “Au Bas” merino wool no. 25, 60 grams of C-B Shiny Pearl Cotton no. 5, and a 3mm diameter hook.

Cast on 46 chain stitches with the wool and make a row of double crochets and a row of single stitches taken in the whole stitch, a row of single stitches in pearl cotton taken in the half stitch behind. Repeat these three rows until you have 0 sts. 35. (Fig. 1.)

Divide the stitches in two, leave two on each side in the middle and continue each side separately, increasing by one stitch per round on the shoulder side and decreasing in the same way on the neckline side. This for 0 m. 25. Decrease on both sides for another 25 centimeters. Second side of the same.

Surround everything with 4 rounds of simple pearl cotton stitches, rounding the neckline. (See pattern.)

Small buttons on pearl cotton molds (Fig. 3 and 4) and double buttonholes of the same (Fig. 5). Place it on the child, crossing, and tie on the sides.
