M. ADDENBROOKE

Morecambe, one of the principal English beaches, which claims the title of pioneer of English Carnivals, is represented at the Nice Carnival, by Mr. H. R. V. Addenbrooke, general manager of the "Morecambe Tower", one of the first places of entertainment.

This is the second visit that Mr Addenbrooke has made to Nice, and this year he brings with him the compliments of the Mayor of Morecambe to the Mayor of Nice, and also the warm compliments of the Morecambe Rotary Club of which he is an honored member and enthusiastic.

Mr Addenbrooke has taken a great interest in the development of Morecambe Carnival over the past five years. He is chairman of the Illuminations Committee, one of the most important Committees in the Section, and has been a diligent worker in this part of the celebrations. Carnival organizers celebrated his departure, hoping that his visit would be productive for the good, if he could bring back some of the ideas that made the Nice Carnival so famous.

Mr. Addenbrooke, who was President of the Chamber of Commerce for two years, is considered one of the most influential people in Morecambe.

The President of the Morecambe Rotary Club, Mr. Arthur Caunt, to whom we owe the photograph of Mr. Addenbrooke, tells us of the joy of all his colleagues at the idea of the next description of our Carnival celebrations, which will do so accurately the distinguished representative of Morecambe.

Our British host stayed at the Continental Hotel.
