Never before has the struggle between the supporters of Rhine autonomy and the German nationalists taken on such a savage aspect. These last days, in Pirmasens, several hundred nationalists, after having doused with oil and set fire to the government hotel where the separatist leaders were gathered, threw themselves on the fugitives and massacred them, to the applause of a crowd of 'enthusiasts came running.
