US CONSUL IN TEHRAN ATTACKED AND KILLED BY CROWD His secretary and seven police officers are injured London, July 19 (d. Petit Parisien.) The Reuters agency was informed from Tehran that Commander Imbrie, American consul general in Tehran, was assassinated today by a group of demonstrators, while he was taking photographs on the steps of a fountain. Rushed to hospital, he died there shortly after the attack. One of his secretaries, who accompanied him, was also attacked and very seriously injured. He was taken to hospital. During the scuffle which followed these attacks, a police officer and six agents were injured. |
