ON OUR MARKETS

As we had predicted in recent days, some merchants set up on the Place du Palais and on the Place des Arts have successfully opposed a new refusal to the invitation to go and pitch their tent at the new location that the Municipality wanted to impose on them.
-Do you have at least one order that we must respect? they said yesterday morning to the police?
-Alas, no, replied the officers in front of the amused crowd.
-Well! we will stay here, replied the stallholders, which allowed them to make a bountiful revenue, no longer having any competition on site, thanks to their tenacity.
Furthermore, the merchants who were kind enough to respond to the decision of the Municipal Council on August 16, bitterly regret it today. They are attacking the police who can't help it... wrongly accusing them of favoring their competitors.
Several have promised to return to their old location next Saturday, if, by then, the measures required by the circumstances have not been taken.
