A Willette Exhibition

Until June 30, a curious exhibition of works by our friend A. Willette is open at Lochard, 182, boulevard Saint-Germain. Go see her. You will find there, among other small graceful or tragic marvels, a project for a trumeau, as large as your hand, which is a prodigious take on a rich beauty.

Reported to feminists: “It’s Moâ the master!» Hallucinating works, this “Vertigo”, this “Progress”, where Death is transformed into a phantom monkey, this terrible “It’s war”, this horrible “Tiger” slaying a woman! And what female nudes!

The series of “Seven Deadly Sins”, of which some rather amusing prints are in cardboard and a magnificent frieze, almost twenty meters long, in five parts, reproduced in a limited edition. It is a long series of children miraculously representing our old tales, the grape harvest, hunting, fishing, evoking the most naive, finest, prettiest, most colorful and most cheerful ideas, all with perfect decency, a sumptuous, full art, a curious illusion of relief. A set capable of endlessly seducing and amusing young and old, children, women and men. Go check it out…
