SHORT STORIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD Policemen with sensitive feet The town councillors of the small English town of Selby have their hearts swollen with tenderness for their local policemen. They have just solemnly decided to have paved shelters built on the tarmac of their Market Square "so that the officers' feet can stay cool during the hot weather". They couldn't be more considerate. And what a deal for the Selby comedians! |
