MR. MILLERAND HAS RESUMED HIS OLD HABITS

On the evening of the Congress which had elevated him to the presidency of the Republic, Mr. Alexandre Millerand, accompanied by Mrs. Millerand and a friend, had taken a long and hygienic walk in the forest of Fausses-Reposes, not far from his villa, rue Mansard, where he resided. Every day, moreover, when he is in Versailles, Mr. Millerand walks through the woods, all the paths of which are familiar to him.

Having become a simple bourgeois of his favorite city again, he resumed his old habits yesterday morning. By the rue du Parc-de-Clagny, he reached the forest so attractive in its summer finery and surveyed it with visible satisfaction. The former President of the Republic then went to Paris, where he came to attend, as is his custom, the weekly session of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, of which he is a member. Mrs. Millerand did not leave Versailles.

The pretty villa, lost in the greenery, is moreover given over to the workers who are finishing some work: they are repainting the front door in particular. The discreet security service established on Friday has been lifted and nothing more distinguishes the calm and relaxing rue Mansard from the neighboring streets, calm and relaxing like it.
