While waiting for big houses, will we build small ones?

Because of the still great acuteness of the housing crisis, and while waiting for decisions to be made for the construction of the buildings needed to remedy it, some are looking for palliatives which, if they do not completely eliminate the evil, can contribute to alleviating it a little.

These are obviously only makeshift means whose effects can only be short-lived. This is the nature of the new proposal that Mr. Laquet, Belleville councilor, will present to the Municipal Council at the next session.

He is asking that a program be studied for the construction of temporary housing to last 15 to 20 years and whose cost price would allow a rent accessible to the purse of those who only draw their income from manual or intellectual work.
