Japanese immigration to the United States
Washington, 10 May. A committee of Representatives of the House and Senate conferred today on the Immigration Bill, which virtually prohibits Japanese immigration to the United States.
The House of Representatives yesterday rejected a suggestion by President Coolidge that enforcement of the bill be delayed until March 1925. With the passage of this decision, and if the House and Senate agree, the Immigration Act will go into effect on July 1st of this year.
