MR DURIGHELLO AND THE LOUVRE MUSEUM
Mr Durighello, whose complaint against the Musée du Louvre we mentioned earlier, would like us to point out that he is not a dealer in antiquities.
It was as an explorer, following excavations in Syria, that he had the opportunity to make donations to the Louvre, from 1882, when he was still a minor, until 1920. And if he now finds himself in the painful position of having to ask for the return of the objects he donated when he was a minor and unmarried, it is because he was not encouraged in his archaeological exploration work, which cost him a great deal of money, and he is now ruined and obliged to look after his three children alone, his wife having died.
